Winter - End of 2017!

We are a bit late for this post but here is how our year ended!

First of all, Emilie got to be part of the famous annual end of the year performance of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Academy: "Granny Dances to a Holiday Drum". She rehearsed everyday for the entire month of November and performed for 12 shows in December. We all went to see her and it was fabulous!

Here Emilie is with one of her favorite dancer and lead, Chloé.

Thank you!

Zoila, Antonio and I do Capoeira. Before the holidays, our school received the visit from our "Master Mestre", Mestre Acordeon and his wife Mestra Suelly, both Capoeira legends! It was a fun class and it is always a pleasure to see them and learn from their extensive knowledge and experience.

Then it was time to think about Winter celebrations and Christmas. Every year kids ask for a real live Christmas tree and every year we go through the long list of why this is not the best idea. But then we have to come up with some clever alternative. We've been pretty good at it (our best trees were made in the Galapagos!). This year, we make a tree of light!

Galo met a new friend in the bus, George. George introduced us to his 12 years old daughter Vivian. She lives in the East Coast but comes to visit him once in a while. We met her last summer and she came again for the holidays. Emilie and Vivian became friend right away and Zoila and Antonio really like hanging out with her!

We went iceskating with Vivian when she came visit her dad in December.

Then, the best to come was Andrés's visit all the way from Hawaii! He brought cold temperature and snow with him!
We had our Christmas eve dinner at home with Gabi and Andrés. We were invited by our favorite family for Christmas day dinner. The Matter and King's house!

 Waiting for the bus!

Presents!
Here, Cormak is playing a Ukulele concert for us, accompanied by Galo on the guitar.

Farewell! Hasta la próxima Andrés!

Right after Christmas, we all started getting sick one after the other one. Antonio was first to be sick with the flu. Then I (Mathilde) got sick, followed by Emilie, Zoila and Galo!

Here Antonio is resting from the flu with his best buddy Hugo, who we were babysitting for a few days while Gabi went to visit her family in California.

Just before getting sick, Zoila got to go to the Horse riding camp she got for Christmas. She loved it of course!

Zoila is posing with her horse, Teddy.

So we ended the 2017 year sick with the flu. Our New Year Eve was pretty pathetic! But we were all together and that's the most important!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018!!!!
