SPRING!

It's October, and I am way behind in the blog. Bad blogging!
Spring has been a really nice season to us this year, highlighted by the visit of my mom, a trip to San Francisco on board of the Zephir, and a road trip to the Four Corners. You add a dash of birthdays (Zoila and Antonio's) and it makes a perfect Spring, my favorite season!
Here is a recap!

ZOILA IS 9!
Since 2009, our Springs start with the celebration of Zoila's birth! Our early Spring baby turned 9 on March 24.

Then, kids were invited to be part of the ODC San Francisco based dance company, to perform in their "Velveteen Rabbit" performance. Yes, all three of them. 3 stars are born!

We've enjoyed some good time with Mamie Pat who came to visit us for 6 weeks!

Antonio, Zoila and Emilie ended their year at their Homeschool Connection Friday program with a musical : The tale of Beauty and the Beast, featuring Emilie as Beauty (exceptional performance), and Zoila as Helen, the maid (very professional!).

On May 5, Antonio turned 7!

Soon after, our 3 stars performed in their Cleo Parker Robinson dance academy showcase. Three days of performance! Emilie was the "prima ballerina" of course! She received an award and a scholarship!

May 20, we were embarking the Amtrak Zephir coming from Chicago on its way to San Francisco, California! A journey of 36 hours! Beautiful landscapes all the way.
How wonderful it was to see again all our favorite friends from San Francisco. We hadn't seen most of them in 6 years!! San Francisco is as beautiful as it was in our memories, but busier I think! We got to be at the SF Carnaval 2018! What a treat!

We were barely back to Denver (by train again!), that we went on a 5 day-road trip to the Four Corners. Colorado has such amazing landscapes and an incredible geography. We got to step in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah briefly! We rode all the way to Monument Valley, stoped at Mesa Verde and ended our trip in the Garden of the Gods.

And finally, but not least, we celebrated one more year of Capoeira with our annual batizado!
Antonio and I got our new green/yellow belt while Zoila got promoted to a yellow belt. Great reunion of wonderful capoeiristas, mestres and profesores!

And just like that, Spring was over, Mamie Pat was back in France, and we were barely recovering from 3 intense months that Summer was just starting!
